Art Room
We have a designated art space with plenty of room for painting and creating! Art classes teach kids to:
Respect others, start a dialogue, epxeriment with materials, observe, find their voice, self-evaluate, make connections, express themselves, learn from their mistakes, clean up, reflect on their work, embrace diversity, persevere, have an opinion, appreciate beauty, break away from stereotypes, envision solutions, value aesthetics, see another point of view, innovate.
"If you hear a voice within you say 'you cannot paint', then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced." -Vincent Van Gogh

Library
Imagination
Because a good book has no ending!
WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF IMAGINATION AND DREAMS!
Books are the doorway to thoughts, dreams, fairy tales, excitement, emotions and so much more… Reading stimulates the child’s mind and allows them to grow! Our library transports our children to a land of wonder and adventure.
"Be not afraid of greatness. Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them." -William Shakespeare

Computer Room
Our computer program has a designated computer room which includes tablets and educational applications. Our program offers interactive applications encouraging skills in pre-mathematics, pre-writing and pre-reading. Interactive games are loads of fun, educational and develop fine motor skills.
"Technology is just a tool. In terms of getting the kids working together, and motivating them, the teacher is the most important." -Bill Gates

Culinary Activities
One of the most fun activities for children is playing with food!
Well our children get to enjoy baking, preparing, molding and decorating their very own foods and pastries. Garderie L’Univers en moi has a cafeteria room close to the kitchen where our cook and our educators can organize our amazing culinary activities. We have a perfect space where our children can enjoyed their culinary activities in a safe and nurturing environment.
Part of development, growth and connecting to your environment is using your 5 senses. The sense of touch allows the child to be comfortable with his/her environment. We have a hands-on approach which encourages growth and participation in our ever-changing environment. Over time a child is better able to integrate himself/herself in different situations just through the practice of using and being aware of his/her 5 senses.
"This is my invariable advice to people; learn how to cook—try new recipes, learn from your mistakes, be fearless, and above all have fun." -Julia Child

Motor Skills Room - Gymnasium
Our gymnasium is a fantastic addition to our daycare! Our children are not confined to one room for the entire day rather they have a daily opportunity to release energy and improve their gross motor skills through physical play. Dancing, gymnastics, yoga and many other games and movements are introduced to enhance physical development.
Our gymnasium is an invaluable asset that is available and advantageous especially during cold and rainy days when outdoor plays is not an option!
Daily movement is a must and our large gymnasium ensures daily exercise. Motor skills are motions carried out when the nervous system and muscles work together. These skills target the development of the brain, spinal cord and nerves. Fine motor skills are small movements, such as picking up small objects and holding a spoon, which use the small muscles of the fingers, toes, wrists, lips, and tongue. Gross motor skills are the larger movements, such as rolling over and sitting; these movements use the large muscles in the arms, legs, torso, and feet.
"There are two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children. One of these is roots; the other, wings." -Hodding Carter
